These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and CareerSeek ("Company", "we", "us") governing your use of the website at https://resumeai-phi-seven.vercel.app and all associated services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the EEA), have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

CareerSeek provides an AI-powered online resume builder that allows users to:

• Create, edit, and format resumes using provided templates
• Receive AI-generated suggestions for resume content via the Groq AI API
• Use the CareerBot chat feature for career advice and skill recommendations
• Download completed resumes as PDF documents
• Access career-related blog content and resources

The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising revenue through Google AdSense.

CareerSeek does not require account registration. Your resume data is stored locally in your browser's localStorage. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your data and for all activities that occur within your browser session.

You acknowledge that:

• Resume data is stored in your browser and may be lost if you clear browser data
• AI features transmit your resume content to our servers and to the Groq AI API for processing
• We do not permanently store your resume content on our servers
• You are responsible for maintaining backups of your resume data

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service to create resumes containing false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the Service
• Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code through the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Use the Service in any manner that could damage our reputation or the reputation of our partners
• Use the AI features to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Service
• Create multiple accounts or sessions to circumvent usage limits

The Service uses artificial intelligence (powered by Groq AI / Llama 3) to generate resume suggestions, career advice, and other content. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content is provided for informational and assistive purposes only
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of AI-generated suggestions
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all content before using it in your resume
• AI suggestions should not be treated as professional career, legal, or HR advice
• We are not responsible for any employment decisions, outcomes, or consequences resulting from your use of the Service
• The AI may occasionally produce inaccurate, outdated, or contextually inappropriate suggestions

Our IP: The Service, including its design, templates, code, branding, blog content, and AI prompts, is owned by CareerSeek and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Your content: You retain full ownership of the resume content you create using the Service. By using the Service and submitting content for AI processing, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process your content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your resume content.

Downloaded resumes: PDF resumes generated by the Service may be used freely for personal and professional purposes, including job applications.

The Service displays third-party advertisements provided by Google AdSense and potentially other advertising networks. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:

• Advertisements are provided by third parties and we do not endorse advertised products or services
• We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party advertisements
• Clicking on advertisements may take you to third-party websites governed by their own terms and privacy policies
• Google AdSense may use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing history
• You can opt out of personalised ads via Google Ad Settings

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• AI-generated resume suggestions will result in job interviews or offers
• The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations
• Any errors in the Service will be corrected

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREERSEEK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed £100 (or the equivalent in your local currency).

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CareerSeek and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any resume content you create using the Service.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

• Groq AI (AI processing) — subject to Groq's Terms of Service
• Google Analytics (usage analytics) — subject to Google's Terms of Service
• Google AdSense (advertising) — subject to Google's Advertising Policies
• Vercel (hosting) — subject to Vercel's Terms of Service

We are not responsible for the terms, privacy practices, or conduct of these third-party services.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time with or without notice. We also reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

We will indicate the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer located in the EU, you may also have the right to submit your complaint to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, such provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CareerSeek regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
